Dear Chef Diot,

Last Saturday night my husband, Allen Armstrong hosted a surprise dinner party for me - and twenty five other guests – at Tapenade.

We had the experience of a private dining room as we occupied the Bistro room.

Allen had arranged for a tasting menu, including the appropriate wines. Dinner was superb! And so was the service and presentation. Each course built upon the previous ones as did the wines. It was a dramatic as well as a delicious experience.

As we were leaving and people were saying their good-byes, over and over we heard, “I did not know you could get a meal like this in San Diego.”

Congratulations for a marvelous accomplishment and please accept my heartfelt thanks.

My Dear Friends,

I want to take this opportunity to personally thank all of you on behalf of myself, and the entire Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons for the absolutely fantastic President’s banquet you put together for us. From the first canapé to the definitive dessert, everything was delicious, expertly prepared and beautifully served. The entire staff was very professional warm, friendly and courteous. It just could not have been any better.

I received many “rave reviews” about the entire evening the following day, many expressing the opinion that it was the best President’s banquet ever (This is the 35th year!!) It truly was an honor for me to host this organization, consisting for all Pacific Rim countries, in La Jolla, and to have the opportunity to show off the best of our restaurants. We could not have done it without your great help. I am very grateful and appreciate everything.

Again, thank you so much. Looking forward to many more pleasant evenings at Tapenade.
